Book Club meets on...
Students must come prepared to Book Club with their book and notebook.
Notes should include:
- Story elements (at beginning of story, or if changed drastically during)
- setting
- characters
- problem
- solution/resolution
- plot
- genre
- Seven Reading Strategies (including but not limited to):
- Inferences
- Questions
- Mental Images
- Features of Non-fiction (if applicable)
- Connections (T/T), (T/S), (T/W)
- Thought and/or feelings while reading
- Prediction
- Events
Scoring:
- Plan and complete the reading with your group- 20 points
- Listen to your group members when they share- 20 points
- Offer good ideas during discussion that reflects from classmates ideas- 15 points
- Ask questions (relevent to text)- 15 points
- Be prepared - 30 points
